Aston has recently hit a super funny stage. He is in a very imaginative place yet he's learning more about his surroundings and his language and speech are developing at a super rapid rate. Here are some of the funny things we are laughing at around our house these days.
Aston is the following things at any given time:
A blue kitty who likes warm milk and blueberries. He roams around the house meowing and telling us that blue kitty is sad.
A big scooper who eats only with his scooper not a fork.
His words for things are:
plane-port = airport
black dog = Brady
Maxiwell = Daddy
Mommywell = Mommy
Scooper/Scoopie = Backhoes and bulldozers
So Aston has started calling daddy, Maxwell because one day I was getting Aston dressed for the day and got frustrated with Max about something silly and called him Maxwell and Aston picked up on it. Now he walks around the house calling him Maxwell and it is just the cutest thing ever. Sometimes its daddy Maxiwell, other times its just Maxwell.
Aston is also IN LOVE with all things construction. Currently Shadow Mountain's campus (Max's work and Aston's school) is a huge constructions zone and will be for the next 2 years or so. That means that when we get bored at home, we go and watch the scoops. The week of Valentine's, one of the scoop drivers (Yellow Scoop) let Aston come inside the scoop and look around. The next day when Aston came to school for Valentine's Day, he brought the Yellow Scoop Driver a Valentine. He was so touched that today, he gave Aston an "I Dig Dirt" hat. He was so touched by Aston's Valentine that he went out and got him a brand new John Deere hat. SO NICE! Needless to say, Aston is loving every aspect of the construction and wants to stay at "daddy Maxwell's work" all day, every day.
Aston on his first day of Preschool in Miss Crystal's Class. He's getting so big!

Aston turns 2!!! Part 2 Train and Plane Birthday Party
On Sunday the 15th, we had a Train and Plane birthday party for Aston. He loves anything transportation. Trucks, trains, planes, you name it! Here is what we did. I realize there are no plane pictures but there were plane decorations they just didn't get captured very well.
We had so much fun throwing this party for our sweet boy! He is such a joy in our lives and it was great to celebrate him! Now onto year 3!

Aston Turns 2!!!! Part 1 Disneyland
I seriously cannot believe our baby boy is 2! Where did the time go? He is talking like crazy and is very active. His physical development is blowing us away too. We had our 2 year visit this last week. His Head is 50.5 cm which is in the 75th percentile (smaller than in the past), his Height is 36 inches which is the 90th percentile (he's gotten super tall lately) and he is 30.5 pounds which is the 75th percentile. We have a very healthy and busy boy and we are loving life!
Max and I continue to talk about how much we love being parents and just how much joy this little boy brings to our lives! We cannot wait for baby Girl to get here but we are enjoying our last few weeks as a family of 3.
To celebrate Aston's birthday, we've done a few things.
First, the week before his birthday, we took a trip up to Disneyland! We had such a nice time and it was a perfect day up there.
Our first stop before the park opened was getting Aston his own clock aka watch. He is very proud of it!
Our first stop in the park, "Bumbo" aka Dumbo.
Then the little choo choo.
Later when took our crazy Hippo to see the hippos on the Jungle Cruise.
A Hippo and a hippo.
We finally found the balloons at the end of the day. Aston was so excited!
We had such a fun day!

Aston Goes Ice Skating!
About 2 years ago, Maxwell got REALLY into Hockey and he and his brother Sam got all the gear and started taking skating and hockey lessons. He has been dying to get Aston out on the ice and this past weekend he did!
Taking a break. Aston was cold.
Telling Daddy how great it is!
So happy!!
Aston LOVED it and it was so much fun watching them skate. It was also very nice to be a bit cold since we have been living in 100 degree weather!
His look tells it all!
Daddy was working hard!
