Friday Update

Last Saturday, after a year with "longer" hair, I cut it off. Here are the before and after pictures. I love the new hair! Aston and Max like it too!

Sweet after bath time with my boy! I just love him so much! He's getting so big!
We finally have an after bath picture with Max in it too! Then the boys had fun making faces!
Sunday night was a sad football night in our house but we had comfort food....Football shaped meatloaf.
This was Aston watching the Patriot game. Little did we know that face would end up so fitting.
This week was warm in San Diego, so get pulled the water and sand table Aston got from the Jardin grandparents. He LOVED it and got wall wet and dirty!
Yesterday, we went up on the hill to do some exploring before the rain started. This is his favorite place to be!

Now we are onto a crazy busy next 10 days! Max is going to a hockey game with my dad and brother today, we have a birthday party on Sunday for Betty and Maxwell's great uncle Marvin, Max has a busy week at work, I have a craft night next Friday and Maxwell turns 28 next weekend! Busy but fun week ahead! Hope you all are well!

Happy Friday

Here is what the Jardin Zoo has been up to this week!

Aston is OBSESSED with Winnie the Pooh. Thankfully my aunt had it to borrow since it's not available right now.
I just love this cute little robe from my aunt Barb! It's so stinking cute!
I finally got to work on this fun, easy project this week. You can see it here.
After bath faces! One of my favorite times of the day! I love being silly with my little Hippo.
It was a big football weekend in our house. Go Patriots! And Hockey starts tomorrow so we have a very, very happy daddy in the house.
I love how the Message states Philippians 4: 6-7. So encouraging I think.

Spent a little time in my craft area this week and made this little painting. I forget how relaxing painting is for me.
My new craft area is coming together. A full post to come soon.
I took a Grow your Blog with Pinterest from Influence Network. They offer online classes for $10 a class and I thought it was ver beneficial! They have all types of class.
My package Amazon and got these cute straws.
Kikkerland Biodegradable Paper Straws, Birch, Box of 144
I'm hosting a craft night in February and was organizing supplies for the event this week. I can't wait! Whose coming?
It's a bad picture but Aston fell asleep sitting up the other day. It was so pathetic! But he really didn't cry himself to sleep, just fell asleep like this.
Aston is such a little reader! He just loves it!
I occasionally dabble in a little graphic design type stuff and made this invitation for my Mother in Laws birthday party she is sharing with her uncle. It should be fun!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have a great weekend!

Our Week

Oh the time change has made our life interesting this week. We have been up by 5 or 6 each day, with 3 naps some days and lots of trying to keep Aston busy while I get things done (it's been a challenge :)) Anyways, here is what has been going on at the Jardin Zoo this week.
Last Friday, I introduced Bearcub Creations, my new blog, so I missed some of the pictures from last week, so I thought I'd share. Love these two boys!
I made plum and blackberry jam on Friday. It turned out great!
Sunday morning, Aston was up at 6 ready to go but antsy because he was tired. So we went to the park at 7am to try and get to our regular nap time. We spent 1.5 hours there. He loved it! Uncle Tim came by to play for a bit! Aston is crusing like crazy these days. It has been a week of being proud of himself because he is free!
He's finally starting to like the slide, but only a few times and then he's done!

My DaySpring package came this week. The countdown is great! We'll start that today, since we will be gone at Disney World next week and we will be a week behind but we should be able to get through the 12 days by the end of the month.
Our new freedom has also caused some new boo boo's! He fell on Wednesday morning and hit the corner of a piece of furniture. Thankfully it was just a small cut that didn't bleed much but he has a nice little black eye now :).
Aston's 1st year book came! It turned out sooo good! I love it!
Aston, watching TV while walking...it's a bit dangerous but there's no stopping him!
Can you tell I'm ready for our trip? We leave Monday morning for Disney World and I'm sooo excited! Check out my Mickey Toes tutorial on Bearcub Creations. Speaking of Bearcub Creations, if you have a Facebook, can you pop over to my Facebook Fan page and "like" it for me? Also go to Bearcub Creations to see the things I've posted this week, if you've missed them.
Aston watching daddy mow the lawn yesterday. He's so cute! Pretty soon he'll be out there mowing the lawn!
Reading! Aston loved book! He would rather read then do anything else!

That has been our week in a nutshell. We are off to Disney World next week. If you have instagram, follow me @bearcubcreations to see what we are up to. Have a great week and I'll try to get some phone pictures up while we are there but we'll see.

High Five for Friday!

It's Friday! But it doesn't feel like it... Max is working today (his normal day off) because one of my friends is getting married tomorrow! And he traded work days so that he could be my date :) Anyways,

1. I am so thankful for this man! He is the best husband and best friend a girl could ask for. He is also an awesome dad and I love getting to walk through life with him. We have so much fun together and he puts up with my crazy ideas and projects. :) This is an old picture but lately we have been bad at getting pictures of the two of us. We'll have to make sure we get one or two tomorrow at the wedding!

2. I love this little boy and this is one of my new favorite pictures of him. I know I've posted it before...maybe twice but it is too cute. He LOVES his monkey these days. Yesterday Monkey got a bath and Aston was a bit disconcerted watching Monkey get put into the washing machine....So cute!

3. I am thankful for a little boy who plays well by himself. He was busy rearranging the pantry for me as I cooked on Tuesday. So, so busy!
 4. I am so excited for Christmas! It's one day less than 2 months away today! On Wednesday, I went to Jo-Anns to get fabric for the pillows on our couch. Yesterday, I started to finalize our calendar for the month and make a list of projects I need to do. I'm soooo excited. Here is a fun count down clock I found. Sometimes I just like to sit and watch the snow fall on the screen. Thats the closest we get to snow here in San Diego:)
 5. And last but not least, these things have been my best friends this week. Aston and I have gone through 15 tea bags, lots of honey and 4.5 boxes of Puffs. Thankfully I'm feeling better and Aston has only had a little runny nose...we are trying to keep it that way!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have all had a great week and have a wonderful weekend!

High Five for Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! Here's a peak of what we have been up to this week.

1. My aunt and cousins brought home apples from Sam Luis Obispo and I got to make some yummy apple sauce with them!

2. Our Disney World travel stuff came in the mail! We are 23 days away!

3. Playing with non-toy items is so much fun. I love that Aston sticks his tounge out when we works. So cute!

4. I love my new "slippers" that I got at Target! They are so cute and I don't trip over them while I carry Aston. I think they could pass as real shoes but we'll see.

5. The last two weeks in order to extend the time before the Hippos 1st nap, we have been sitting and reading or watching Mickey Mouse. It has been a great time for me to stop and cuddle with my little boy!
I hope you all had a great week! Happy Friday!

Celebrating the Little Things!

Looking back at pictures that I took this week, I was reminded of all the great things, large and small that happened. I have said this before but I am amazed at how much we can forget about our week because we are so busy. I love stopping to reflect on what blessing God has bestowed upon us during the week.

Last Friday, I did our monthly shopping trip to Walmart. I came home and remembered how overwhelmingly unorganized our pantry was, so I jumped in head first into a complete pantry reorganization. I love how neat it is, although we are still adjusting to the new placement of things.
I am so thankful for this little boy and the joy he brings to our life. A few nights ago, we were playing with Aston before bed and Max looked at me a said, "Isn't it great that we can have so much fun being weird as a family!" I couldn't agree more. This picture is our nightly routine of making faces in the mirror after bath time all wrapped up in his towel.
Fall Decorating makes me so happy....it means Christmas is coming!!!!
We finally have some cooler weather in San Diego, which meant I had my first Caramel Hot Cocoa! So good!
I loved how cuddly the Hippo has been this week. I'm sorry that it's because his mouth hurts but we have had some great cuddle time every day.
Hydrangea's are one of my favorite flowers and they keep producing new blossoms this year...probably because it's been so warm. I am so thankful for God's creation and the colors in our world!
Aston cannot do a thumbs up on his own yet but I got a picture of him mid-wave and it turned out like this. I love it because he LOVES being outside watching the birds and airplanes. He was in heaven!
Yummy Caramel Apple Pancakes...they are not as sweet as they sound.
Rain! It is a rare site in San Diego but Max and I love it! Last night it poured for a good hour and it was so nice sleeping to the sound of the rain and waking up to the cold, wet smell of outside. Love!
Most of all, I am thankful for our little family and the fun things we do together! Aston loved Bates Nut Farm pumpkin patch. (I'll post more pictures tomorrow.) It was the perfect cool, rainy day picking out pumpkins, taking a tractor ride and getting drizzled on. We had a blast!

My heart is so full this morning as I write this and look at all God has done this week in our lives. I hope you take a moment to stop a reflect on the little things and the magnitude of God's Goodness!
